- For those more familiar to Mario Kart, the game supports five different control options: Wii Wheel, Wii Remote turned on its side, Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination, Classic Controller and even Nintendo GameCube controller.
- Those looking for world ranking domination can take on up to 11 players simultaneously worldwide using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.
- Try the Multiplayer Mode, in which up to four people will be able to challenge each other in the comfort of their own living room, bringing the on-screen excitement into a whole new dimension.
- Players will have to master a host of 16 exciting new tracks in addition to 16 classic tracks from previous Mario Kart games.
- For the first time, players will have the option of racing with karts or a brand new mode of transport ? Bikes.
- Players will also be able to hit the road as their own personalized Mii caricatures in addition to many classic and even some never-before seen characters in Mario Kart games.
- In addition to all this, a new Wii Channel, the Mario Kart Channel, will also be launched with Mario Kart Wii. Players will be able to monitor their ranking against others with data compiled from races completed online as well as access and share Ghost Data to download. Why not see if your friends are playing by checking their status? Players even have the possibility to join in on their friends' races in progress as a spectator and jump into the race when the next course launches. Through this channel, users will be exposed to a host of new online features allowing them to join a community of racing fans from all over the world as well as participate in special worldwide events organised by Nintendo.

CHARACTERS:
-Not all of the drivers from previous installments will be returning from DD and MKDS. Don't expect any of the Pac-Man characters from the Arcade games.
-About 75% of the drivers are unlockables. There is a ridiculously large amount of drivers.
-Hammer Bros., Toadsworth, and Dixie Kong are new drivers.
-There will be an original character (possibly more than one) introduced in this game (similar to Toadette's introduction in DD.)
-Expect a major comeback from a past Mario character similar to Birdo in Mario Tennis as a driver (I'll keep this one a surprise.)
TRACKS:
-There will be a full track based on Luigi's Mansion and not as a battle stage.
-Rainbow Road will return in keeping with tradition of the franchise.
-There will be a new stage called Retro Raceway that pays homage to classic Mario games.
-There will be re-vamped versions of SMK and MK64 stages.
-A good number of the tracks will have more than one way to reach the finish line. Expect lots of hidden paths. There are also a lot of traditional racing tracks with no shortcuts whatsoever.
-There will be a hugely re-vamped version of Moo Moo Farm.
ITEMS:
-The Blooper item from MKDS will be brought over into MK Wii.
-There will be some items that can only be used by motorcycles and some that can only be used by traditional karts.
-The Ice Flower from Super Mario Galaxy is an item. It creates an icy trail in your path for a short amount of time that players can slip on.
-The POW Block is also an item.
OTHER:
-The Mission Mode from MKDS will make an appearance. There will also be boss fights. It will be shorter than it was in MKDS.
-Expect lots of unlockables, such as bonus music tracks for stages.
-Super Princess Peach will have some representation in the game; what exactly it is I do not know.
