Having combined press event with Lionhead one can expect another demonstration of E3 stuff, maybe with updated builds of Natal and Milo. Peter Molyneux presence is guarantied, hopefully with a fresh announcement. A bit less likely is announcement of the rumored price drop for Elite model and elimination of Pro.

[Sony]

By far the most Gamescom hype is concentrated around upcoming Sony conference. Among rumored megatons are PS3 Slim announcement along with a price drop to 299€, GT5 release date, PSN revamp, a new firmware and even less likely things. One, however, can be sure that PSP Go will be present strongly along with GT PSP and other upcoming games for the platform. Finally EU PSP Go price will be announced.

Announcement of new PSN exclusive title from creators of Super Stardust HD.

Monster Hunter 3 (Wii) playable at Capcom booth, hopefully announcement of the release date

Two new stages of Heavy Rain will be demoed by Quantic Dream along with a reveal of new character.

New SplitFish PS3 Controller FREVOLUTION X will be demoed.

Sega will show a playable build of Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll with Balance board support.

2K Czech brings Mafia II to Gamescom.

Capcom will debut PS3 version of Lost Planet 2 and show Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, MotoGP09/10, Spyborgs for Wii and RE5 for PC.

Περιμένω να δώ περισσότερα για το Lost Planet 2. Ότι έχω δεί μέχρι στιγμής είναι τόσο εντυπωσιακό που φοβάμαι ότι δεν θα είναι τόσο καλό. Ελπίζω να υπάρξει πολύ υλικό.

Γενικά παίζουν πολλά και καλά ονόματα και ήδη υπάρχει μία λίστα με 6-7 παιχνίδια που θέλω να δω. Θα είναι ιδιαίτερα ευχάριστες αυτές οι δύο μέρες, μια που τον τελευταίο καιρό υπάρχει πολύ "λειψυδρία" στο χώρο.

Current gen 'to last until 2012' - Crytek




COLOGNE, Germany--As the head of one of the highest-profile PC development studios in the world, Crytek CEO and founder Cevat Yerli is well placed to hold a session titled "The Future of Gaming Graphics." Crytek has been responsible for Far Cry and Crysis--two of the most cutting-edge games on the market upon their release, and he is currently hard at work bringing Crysis 2 to the PC as well as Xbox 360 and PS3.




Yerli was keen to stress that between now and 2012, we shouldn't expect games to advance much beyond what they look like today. "Games 'til 2012 will not look very different than [they do today], since engines are bound to console cycles." Yerli forecasts that the next major CryEngine upgrade will arrive in 2012, around the same time he believes the next generation of console hardware will arrive. That said, he fully acknowledges the strength of the Wii and the prospect of an elongated console life cycle and warned that if a new generation didn’t arrive in 2012-2013, then "it could be a long time."




While Yerli claims that the current graphical benchmark has been set, he says that we should still expect "huge gains in physics, AI, and simulation of special effects" over the next few years. He also says, in reference to the Fox animated movie series, that by 2013 "you will be able to do Ice Age in real time." Matching animated movies in real-time seems to be a major goal for Yerli, who used Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within as a benchmark for CryEngine 3.







"We wanted to beat the faces in the Final Fantasy movie, but doing in real time what they were doing offline. Every day I was getting posted images from the Final Fantasy movie," he joked. He then proceeded to show a video of the incredibly lifelike facial models in the latest iteration of the engine. "One face has more technology than the entire first Far Cry," he claimed.








CryEngine 3 is the company's current technology foundation, which Yerli claims will form the bedrock of the company's games until 2012. Yerli showed off a demo of Crysis rebuilt using the latest technology. It included 3D volumetric clouds, soft particles, parallax occlusion mapping, and a 7km view distance. Clearly, Yerli is undeterred by the criticism he received for the original Crysis and its high system requirements. “It was always my dream to have a game that I could play now, and then in two years when I upgrade my PC, play again,” he stated.

Δεν καταλαβαίνω που το πάει αυτό το παιχνίδι, αλλά φαίνεται τέλειο και το θέλω ASAP. Ελπίζω να μη φάμε καμιά ξενέρα πάλι με το σενάριο και δούμε τραγικές σκηνές τύπου "I love you" .

Από τα λίγα videos και πληροφορίες που είδα από την φετινή Gamescom έχω να πω πως η Sony τα σπασε ενώ η MS μας τα σπασε. Πολύ πιο ''σοβαρή'' μου φάνηκε η Sony δείχνοντας πολύ πράγμα για PS3 και PSP ενώ η MS conference η καλύτερα η lionhead conference αρκέστηκε σε ένα Fable III το οποίο ξέραμε ήδη ότι θα βγει ( δώ και κάνα μήνα ) , ούτε καμιά μείωση του elite ύτε τπτ για το project natal .
Ίσως έδειξε όλα τα χαρτιά της στην Ε3 , τι να πω...

Από τα παιχνίδια που είδα περιμένω τα : Mass Effect 2 , Heavy Rain , Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time και Kingdom Hearts 358/2.

Το Heavy Rain φαίνεται τοσο καλό... Θετικό το γεγονός οτι βρίσκεται πάρα πολύ καιρό στην παραγωγή. Πάντως έχω μια εντύπωση πως τα γραφικά του Video είναι λίγο χειρότερα απο τα video που είχαμε δεί την πρώτη φορά που βγήκαν πληροφορίες (εκείνο το απίστευτο βίντεο με τον μονόλογο της κοπέλας).
