    Xe is a multi system emulator for Windows and Linux that emulates many console and handheld video game systems that are no longer on the market. Xe is an original emulator written from scratch by one person. It is not a port or collection of other emulators.

          New TurboGrafx16/PC Engine Emulator

          Although I didn?t made this emulator specifically for this competition, but it seems I meet all the requirements and since its fun too so I am submitting my new PC-Engine/TurboGraFX-16 emulator in here. Its called Turbo Engine. It is focused on maximum accuracy. Its not much right now but it does have fairly high compatibility. Other things, including CD-ROM support will be added in due course of time.[/b]

            NullDC on PSP

            QJ.NET user Silenus has tipped us off on a hot new project which might end up on your PSP one of these days. It's called the nullDC emulator, and as some of you may guess, it enables Sony's handheld to run games from the old Sega Dreamcast platform. We're getting this soon thanks to author drkIIRaziel.

            Now there's no download yet, but we've got a quartet of videos that prove its existence. Have a look below and see for yourself:


            We know you have a lot of questions in mind right now, so we're quoting beta tester Psyman who had a lot of notes which may answer them. He wrote:

            Before this whole story about possibilities goes on again let me point some things out:

            1. DC is not SNES, nor N64, nor PSX.

            2. Even without a single optimization nullDC runs at 10% of full speed on interpreter mode.

            3. The goal of the project is not to just port the emu to PSP but to make a rewrite targeting various embedded environments apart from PSP.

            4. There is a debate on whether it is possible to reach fullspeed DC emulation on PSP. Most people say that it can't happen (ranging from knowledgeable developers to average Joes) but raz thinks that under specific circumstances it might be possible. If it's not, then there is no big deal since this is not the primary goal anyway.

            There you have it. You can bet we'll be keeping tabs on this project every step of the way. Watch out for more updates.[/b]

                    New nullDC 1.0.3 Released & nullDC 1.0.3 Naomi

                    Null DC News :

                    * VMU/VMS support added.
                    * Fog emulation added on nullPVR. (Note: This requires a shader model 2 video card for now)
                    * Experimental DSP emulation support added on nullAICA.
                    * Image reader can load real CDs now too.
                    * Added a (hidden) option to get rid of the console window since some people seem to hate it.
                    * Various bugs and problems fixed. More stuff became compatible. Less issues on already supported stuff.
                    * NAOMI version of the emulator.[/b]
                    Null DC Naomi News :

                    Before running the emulator make sure that you have the necessary NAOMI BIOS file dumped from your NAOMI arcade system.
                    nullDC currently supports early NAOMI BIOS files that lack GD-ROM support. One of those is the EPR-21576D Japanese BIOS.
                    That's because nullDC doesn't emulate the NAOMI GD-ROM system yet.
                    If your BIOS has GD-ROM support then the emulator will not be able to run any games and the NAOMI BIOS will show an error!
                    The BIOS must be named "naomi_boot.bin" and be placed in the "Data" directory which is in the location where you installed
                    the emulator.

                    The emulator will fail to load if you don't have this file.

                    Before reading any information about running NAOMI ROM carts you should be aware that the protection on them is not cracked yet.
                    This means that even if you manage to run a game it will have serious ingame issues varying from collision detection issues to
                    freezes and crashes. Only NAOMI GD-ROM images are considered "playable" for the time being so better go to section 3.3 if you
                    just want to play some games. You have been warned![/b]

                    Ο Xebra ειναι ενας "ιδιοτροπος" και συναμα "hardcore" emulator που απευθυνεται σε αναλογο κοινο. Δεν εχει ΚΑΜΙΑ σχεση με τους γνωστους emus για PSX καθως δεν παρεχει τετοιου υψηλου επιπεδου συμβατοτητα κι επιπλεον το στησιμο του ειναι πολυ δυσκολο, οποιος προσπαθησει θα χρειαστει Guide.

                    Παρολαυτα, παρεχει συμβατοτητα σε καποια games που οι αλλοι ανταγωνιστες δε μπορουν να επιτυχουν (κυριως κατι καμμενα, ξεχασμενα απτις ιδιες εταιρειες games ~horse racings Κτλ~ )

                      Regen v093 beta 2 (Genesis Emu)

                      Hi,

                      Okay, the beta is ready for testing. This mainly includes the sound fixes including the fixes to PSG (which is now more accurate) and cycle accurate sample support which makes sound very accurate and clean (and handles fast DAC writes efficiently Wink ). Another thing which is included is ROM/RAM switching which fixes SRAM issues in Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

                      Download from here. It includes all the minimal things needed to run. Changelog is in there as well.

                      Fast DAC in some games is now fixed and all games now sound more accurate,

                      * Fixed Combat Cars two player mode screen.

                      * Added overclocking support (68k only). The setting is not saved. Takes
                      effect immediately. Will break timing sensitive games for sure.

                      * Fixed a small bug in VDP timing which would cause a one line glitch at
                      the bottom in Lotus 2, Kawasaki Challenge and some others.

                      * Fixed flickering in Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel.

                      * Implemented ROM/RAM switching support. Needed in Sonic 3 & Knuckles,
                      Phantasy Star 4 and Story of Thor.

                      * Complete rewrite of the frontend timing/synchronization code.
                      It has the following advantages:

                      - No periodic sound skips anymore.
                      - VSync should now work better and work on more PCs. PAL games too shouldn?t have stutters anymore.
                      - It is very fast.
                      - No emulation hiccups
                      - Regen is now much more responsive

                      * DAC sound in Mega Turrican and some others fixed.

                      * Changed VDP timings a bit. This fixes Streets of Rage intro not showing up.

                      CCS64 V3.6 has been released. The following bug-fixes/enhancements have been made:

                      - FIX: To fix an array over-flow error in the re-implemented collision-detection routine, which meant that collisions at the right-hand side of the emulated screen were not being detected properly.

                          Ο συνδυασμος NullDC+Naomi θα τα σπαει οταν φτασει στο καλυτερο δυνατο σημειο το emulation που μπορουν να πετυχουν.
                          Στο project εχει βοηθησει και ο Εlsemi, ο τυπος που λιγο πολυ μονος του εκανε emulate το CPS3 της Capcom.
                          Μονο που το CPS3 ειχε μονοψηφιο αριθμο παιχνιδιων, ενω εδω θα γινει κολαση.
                          Ιδιως για οσους παιζουν fighting θα ειναι παραδεισος (Capcom VS SNK 2, GGear Accent Core, VF4 Final Tuned etc).

                              Recompilation of the SCU-DSP processing has been fixed.
                              SH2 was fixed in the recompilation process.

                              Regen v0.93 Beta 4
                              (Genesis)
                              Hi,

                              I?ve uploaded a new beta 4 of Regen which contains somewhat major sound emulation updates. I?ve added an option to boost PSG volume to whatever the user like since I remeber something else, someone else says something else and recordings sound something else. As such, I?ve been unable to find a way that fits for everyone.

                              Apart from that, hopefully all the reported sound problems might have been fixed in this release. So don?t forget to test them out.

                              SSG-EG part of my YM2612 core has undergone a major overhaul. So it should be pretty much very close to the real thing now. If you want to check out yourself, here is a recording from the real thing and here is the test ROM to run in Regen and compare results. All credits for these both go out to Nemesis.

                              And I almost forgot, you can download the beta from here.

                              And my thanks goes out to a Russian guy for reporting many sound problems but wants to remain anonymous.
