BioShock Infinite's 1999 Mode Takes Gamers Back To Their Roots, Is Not For The Faint of Heart


Here's an official description of the mode:

1999 Mode is a way of playing designed for gamers who long for the days of games that demanded more of the player. It will include tweaks and features that BioShock fans will not experience in a standard play-through of BioShock Infinite, no matter the difficulty level.
In addition to these permanent decisions, 1999 Mode will feature demanding weapon, power, and health management. The mode also takes a much harder stand on player respawning, sending the gamer directly to a “Game Over” screen if he or she lacks the resources to be brought back to life. It’s not for the faint of heart.


“We want to give our oldest and most committed fans an option to go back to our roots,” said Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games. “In 1999 Mode, gamers face more of the permanent consequences of their gameplay decisions. In BioShock Infinite, gamers will have to sweat out the results of their actions. In addition, 1999 Mode will demand that players pick specializations, and focus on them.
“I’m an old school gamer. We wanted to make sure we were taking into account the play styles of gamers like me. So we went straight to the horse’s mouth by asking them, on our website, a series of questions about how they play our games. 94.6 percent of respondents indicated that upgrade choices enhanced their BioShock gameplay experience; however, 56.8 percent indicated that being required to make permanent decisions about their character would have made the game even better.”

Το ξερω γι αυτο δε προκειται να σκασω πολυ περισσοτερα για την ultimate, καλα τα dlc αλλα ολα μαζι δε φτανουν ουτε στο μισο το περιεχομενο του ιδιου το game.

Πολύ καλή φάση η ultimate,έχω σε μεγάλη υπόληψη την obsidian,οι τύποι ξέρουν να δημιουργούν καταπληκτικά rpgs,αν το παιχνίδι δεν ήταν τίγκα στα bugs θα το αγόραζα με κλειστά μάτια.

Ένα ακόμα νέο που αξίζει προσοχής...'Εσκασε μύτη ένα teaser site.Το όνομα αυτού;No hope left.Σε αυτό το τύπου blog site εικάζεται ότι διαφημίζεται ένα καινούριο videogame.Tα τσακάλια του ιντερνετ ανακάλυψαν ότι η διαφημιστική εταιρεία που οργάνωσε το όλο σκηνικό δουλεύει για την capcom.Mάλιστα στην σελίδα αυτή φιγουράρει παντού μια ημερομηνία,19/1/2012.Πιστεύεται ότι τότε θα αποκαλυφθεί το resident evil 6.

Αν και δεν είμαι φαν φαίνεται αρκετά ωραίο, καλύτερο από 5. Συνεχίζει να είναι action αλλά με πιο κλασική ατμόσφαιρα.

The Return of the Neo-Geo

SNK Playmore is once again in the hardware business. The Osaka-based game company is licensing a new (well, sort of) portable Neo-Geo gaming system. This is it.

The handheld sports a 4.3 inch LCD screen, 2GB of onboard memory, and an SD card slot. There are twenty pre-loaded games, all of them old Neo-Geo classics.
The games, which can be played in English, are World Heroes, Ultimate 11, Top Player's Golf, Sengoku, Nam-1975, Mutation Nation, Last Resort, King of Monsters, Frenzy, Cyber-Lip, Fatal Furty Special, The Art of Fighting, Super Sidekicks, League Bowling, Metal Slug, Magical Lord, Baseball Stars Professional, Samurai Shodown, The King of Fighters '94, and Fatal Fury.

The device is larger than an iPhone or your typical smartphone. The back reads "SNK", while the top has an AV Out slot, L1/L2 buttons, and R1/R2 buttons.

The front reads "SNK" and "Neo-Geo". There is a "Menu" button and a "Start" button. The face buttons are A, B, C, and D.

The side of the portable has a power switch and, as previously mentioned, an SD Card slot.

There are also volume controls, a slot for headphones, and brightness buttons.

Considering that this reveal came via a Japanese game blog and not from SNK itself, this does look to be a leak, and it could even be a prototype. According to the blog, the temporary name for the device is "Neo-Geo Keitai" or "Neo-Geo Portable". Note that once it goes in to production the device's specs could change.

The Neo-Geo was original a cartridge-based arcade and home console system SNK manufactured in the 1990s. The last console SNK created was the Neo-Geo Pocket, released in 1999. SNK ceased production in 2001.

Kotaku is following up with SNK and will update this post should the company comment.
