The Neo Geo handheld is real, coming out worldwide in Q2
That "Neo Geo Portable Device" we were all cooing over? What? There was cooing. We cooed a little. Anyway, it's really happening! And it's happening soon! And worldwide. Blaze, who you might know from various Megadrive/Genesis handhelds, is producing the "NeoGeo X" handheld under SNK's license, shipping the device in Q2 with a pre-loaded selection of 20 Neo classics -- a couple of Fatal Furies, King of the Monsters, Metal Slug, and more.
Other features include an SD card slot (for additional games?), and AV out. There's no price for the "limited edition" console yet, but a Blaze rep says in the press release that the company hopes to spread excitement about the Neo Geo "in a more affordable manner, to a much wider audience." That sounds to us like it's going to be cheaper than the $649 SNK asked for the home console at launch.

Shenmue 1, 2 HD to launch on PSN, XBLA - report
Have been ready for over a year.
Sega issued Eurogamer the following statement:Sega is ready to release HD updates of cult Dreamcast classics Shenmue and Shenmue 2, according to a new report.
Shenmue HD and Shenmue 2 HD will be released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade, Gamerzines claimed.
Indeed development of both titles has been finished for over a year, an anonymous source said. The hold up was due to Sega working out the future of the Shenmue franchise, apparently. "Namely, whether or not Shenmue 3 would ever see the light of day," said the report.
If true, Shenmue's HD revamp follows similar efforts with other cult Dreamcast games. Sega recently announced Jet Set Radio HD, due out this summer.
Eurogamer has asked Sega for comment.
"The games that were mentioned are definitely among the most requested re-releases. We can't go into specifics about our future releases, but we are excited to see so much passion surrounding our Dreamcast-era games."

Old news αλλά το ποστάρω γιατί γουστάρω το game!
Όταν είχε κυκλοφορήσει back in the 90's είχαμε μείνει με ανοικτό το στόμα! Δεν είχε ξαναβγεί τέτοιο παιχνίδι. Οι συνέχειές του απλά το έκαναν ακόμα καλύτερο, αλλά, μέχρι ως ένα σημείο. Πόσα Tony Hawk's πια! Μετά άρχισε η πτώση που είχε ως αποτέλεσμα το 2011 να μην κυκλοφορήσει Tony Hawk game.
Πλέον το κόλπο είναι γνωστό, κάνουμε remake τη retro επιτυχία και εκτυπώνουμε λεφτά! Ε, λοιπόν shut up and take my money! Για Xbox Live και PSN.The illusion of free will is an illusion.Comment

H SEGA-Sammy ανακοινωσε ζημιες της ταξεως των 7.1 δισ. JPY. Η εταιρεια προχωραει σε restructuring και στην ακυρωση αρκετων παιχνιδιων. Σε σχετικη ανακοινωση φαινεται πως τα μονα κερδοφορα franchises ειναι τα Sonic, Football Manager, Total War και Aliens (insert Giorgio Tsoukalos pic here).

Ένα πράγμα που μας έχει διδάξει η βιομηχανία τόσα χρόνια είναι ότι σημαντικοί παραγωγοί δε χάνονται. Η Platinum βέβαια προσέφερε φοβερά παιχνίδια και είναι κρίμα να την πάρει η μπάλα, αλλά σίγουρα κάποιος θα βρεθεί για να στηρίξει τα μέλη της.Comment
